Work begins.
After setting the stone in place with an excavator (the stone weighs approx. 10 tons!), a reinforced concrete foundation was poured around the stone. (bottom right image)
The design was then transferred onto the stone and rough carving of the postal panel began (top image), followed by more detailed work (bottom left image)
